Owlytics users can now leverage Samsung ECG Monitor app

Samsung recently received FDA clearance for the ECG monitoring app which is available through their Active 2 watch, worn by Owlytics solution users. The Samsung ECG Monitor app allows users to record, display and classify their heart rhythm as either normal (i.e. sinus rhythm) or as Atrial Fibrillation (AFib), a type of irregular heartbeat.

AFib is the most common type of abnormal heart rhythm, affecting millions people globally, with 5 million new patients diagnosed annually. If left untreated, AFib can increase the risk of complications, including heart failure, blood clots, and stroke.

Note: it is not intended to replace traditional methods of diagnosis or treatment. The app is not intended for users with other known arrhythmias and users should not interpret or take clinical action based on the device output without consultation of a qualified healthcare professional.
